Board Executive Committee – Made up of the Board Chair, Vice Chair and secretary, acts in lieu of the full Board or brings items of interest to the full Board. The Board Executive Committee can enact policy on behalf of the full Board, particularly in cases of emergency. The Committee also routinely discusses emerging issues and engages with senior leadership in strategic thinking/planning.

Finance Committee – Offers guidance and governance to Children’s Board staff on financial matters related to the organization.  Topics that are routinely addressed include investments, budget reviews, and audit results.

Advocacy Committee – Engages community stakeholders and local members of the State Legislature to organize and prioritize into one agenda the issues of greatest importance pertaining to children and families in Hillsborough County.

Organizational Development Committee – Increases organizational effectiveness, well-being and adaptability.   The committee oversees the Children’s Board’s performance management, approves staff positions and leads the Chief Executive Officer’s annual performance review.

Communications Committee – Addresses the Children’s Board’s strategic communications and marketing strategies.  The committee offers advice to help ensure that pertinent information about the Children’s Board’s investments is effectively conveyed to the community at large.
