Advocacy

The Public Policy and Advocacy Department at the Children’s Board supports the Children’s Board mission by uniting community partners and agency staff to establish a coordinated policy and advocacy agenda. The Department Director, Amy Petrila, guides the development of the Children’s Board’s policy and advocacy agenda by soliciting input from staff, community partners, stakeholders, youth citizens, families and providers. The Department also develops and disseminates communications such as:

  • Advocacy Alerts
  • Newsletters
  • Legislative Updates
  • Policy Briefs

In addition, the Department works closely with other Board committees and with staff to ensure identification, coordination and resolution of policy and advocacy concerns that affect children and families in Hillsborough County.
